Art and Design in Action: the Creative Process

On Friday 8th December Michael Stiff shared a platform with Hugo Dalton, Grayson Perry, Martin Parr and Rebecca Wright for a vibrant day entitled: Art and Design in Action: the Creative Process. This visually stimulating programme was for 17 and 18 year old students giving them the chance to meet and learn from these four established artists working in different areas, getting a taste of what inspires them and how they make their living as artists.

Hugo Dalton talked about the power of collaboration, that art is not a solitary activity, pursued alone in a studio. As part of this, Mike discussed routes to becoming an architect as well as the joint projects Stiff+Trevillion has undertaken with Hugo, such as 'Grass Forms' at OneThree Six.

This programme is run by Education in Action an organisation that was founded by teachers who were passionate about providing students with an inspirational, motivational experience not possible within the confines of the classroom.
