Jamie's Italian, Cheltenham, shortlisted for Award

Jamie's Italian has been shortlisted in the category 'Restaurant & Bar in another space' in the 2012 Restaurant & Bar Design Awards.

The Magistrates Court in Cheltenham had been disused for many years so converting this Grade II listed building into a restaurant was a challenge.

The spaces are dramatic and theatrical, and we were obliged to use original benches and furniture. A bespoke 'Scales of Justice' wall lamp was designed specifically for this project along with special chandeliers in the stair and main courtroom.

Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on 6 September 2012.
