Army and Navy Club - The Ribbon Bar, London

Stiff + Trevillion won an RIBA competition to insert a bar on the third floor of the Army and Navy Club which occupies a purpose built 1960s building on Pall Mall.

Located on the third floor with a large terrace, we took our inspiration from the British colonial life between the wars and the classic film 'Ice cold in Alex'. The result is a relaxed clubby bar that appeals to the younger element of the Club membership. The Terrace will grow into a lush tropical garden. We worked with the Plant who coined the name The Ribbon Bar a reference to the coloured medal band worn on dress uniform.
