While many of our urban residential projects re-use existing buildings, many of the homes we design in more rural locations are new-build. They are often shaped by the natural landscape – Catch at Seasalter quite literally catches the views onto a shingled beach, while the internal spaces at Mayfly Cottage connect with lush gardens running down to the River Test. Using vernacular forms and built by local trades, they make use of materials found nearby: flint, charred timber, handmade bricks, terracotta tiles and oak frames.
