An office headquarters at Angel, retrofitted for the future with an old tweed jacket
This thoughtful reinvention of a pair of tired 1980s buildings on Pentonville Road continues Derwent London’s transformation of its holdings at Angel. Retaining the frame and cores, we replaced the old façade system with brick cladding – a bespoke, textured mix of Danish Petersen brick described by the architect Piers Gough as an ‘old tweed jacket’. The Scandinavian feel is carried through into interior fittings and external landscape. Newly conjoined above a limited highway, the buildings can be let as two tenancies or a single headquarters.
