The Corner Restaurant, Selfridges, London

When Alannah Weston became chairman of Selfridges department store in London, she transformed the internal environment, opening up the covered windows of the original building to let the light in. The 60-cover Corner Restaurant off the second-floor womenswear designer galleries has particularly benefitted from this strategy, with views over Oxford and Orchard Streets. Our calm, elegant interior has bespoke chairs with duck-egg blue upholstery, and luxurious detailing: a marbled-topped bar trimmed with brass and fluted oak, antique brass screens and mirrors to reflect the light.
