In conjunction with KERB and the National Theatre, Stiff+Trevillion have collaborated to design The Table, where food and theatre meet. A 70 metre long, bright red banqueting table, that'll be sitting on the South Bank all summer, right outside the National Theatre. The Table is a modular timber construction, designed to be reused and adapted year on year, with around 200 dining spaces at three levels standing, dining and low seated. The 45-degree angled layout echoes the angles of the National Theatre, with the timber construction paying homage to the wooden moulds that cast the iconic concrete structure. The continuous table encourages people to come together to eat and interact. The Table will be dismantled at the end of summer and is designed to be easily reassembled next season.
